A word from our Director
When I founded Translating Energy, it came from a mixture of frustration and hope. I had spent years watching good ideas stall because the people who understood the technology, the money, the policy and the lived reality of buildings were not speaking the same language. The solutions were often there, but they were trapped behind complexity, misalignment and inertia.

I realised that what I do best is sit in the middle of that space and make it work — turning technical detail into decisions, turning ambition into delivery, and turning funding into outcomes that people can actually feel. I care deeply about using my time where it has the highest impact-to-effort ratio, where a small intervention can unlock something much larger for communities, cities and the climate.

I chose the name Translating Energy very deliberately. Sustainability matters to me, but it has become politically loaded and often misunderstood. What I believe in is managing energy and resources today so that more is available tomorrow, because we know that the demand is only going to grow in the future. Translation is the work of making that belief practical, workable and durable across changing political and economic landscapes.

I am not perfectly sustainable, and I don't pretend to be. What matters to me is being honest about the world we live in, reducing harm where I can, and dedicating my professional life to things that genuinely move the dial. Translating Energy is my way of doing that: a small company that knows its limits, but is determined to be useful, to do work it can stand behind, and to leave things meaningfully better than it found them.
